Jog into a Healthier you in 2015

If you’re thinking of getting fit for 2015, or wish to improve your fitness, then why not join the ‘JogScotland’ group at North Ayrshire Athletics Club.
It doesn’t matter if you are a complete beginner or have been jogging for some time; the class is suitable for all levels of ability. Qualified coaches will work on developing your stamina, endurance and core strength to make sure you are running to the best of your ability in no time.
This class, which is held on a Tuesday, 6pm – 7pm, meets at the all-weather synthetic track at KA Campus, St Matthew’s Academy, Saltcoats. The new 12 week block is open to runners of all abilities, age 16 plus.
Club Chair Person, Blair Pettigrew said “Our Extremely popular JogScotland group is back for 2015. We aim to have all beginners running a 5k by the end of the block and more experienced joggers aiming for a 10k. The class is more than just a jog group; our coaches will also help improve your fitness and core strength in a safe and friendly environment. Although we are based at the track in Saltcoats, we welcome everyone from throughout North Ayrshire.”
Jog Scotland member, Claire Duncan, added “I would encourage anyone who is interested in taking up jogging to come along and join us. I was nervous when I first joined the group as my fitness level was not the best. But there are people there at all different levels and everyone trains at their own pace – it is not a race. The coaches will push you to get the best out of you and I have come on leaps and bounds since starting a few months ago. We are a friendly supportive bunch and welcome anyone thinking of coming along to join us.”
North Ayrshire Athletics Club is a community based group based which has grown in popularity since is formed in 2009. It is open to anyone wanting to keep fit or to compete throughout Ayrshire and Scotland. Classes range from the popular JogScotland group to mini atheletics and club access programme.
